Salesforce is currently examining a new set of data theft incidents linked to applications published by Gainsight.

In response to these attacks, the company has deactivated refresh tokens associated with Gainsight applications that interface with its services.

Salesforce declared that the issue does not originate from any flaws within their CRM platform, suggesting that the problematic activity is tied to the external links of the Gainsight application to Salesforce.

The firm issued a warning on Thursday, stating, "We have detected abnormal activities involving Gainsight applications that are directly managed and utilized by our customers. Initial findings suggest this could have led to unauthorized access to specific Salesforce data through these applications."

To mitigate potential risks, Salesforce has rescinded all active tokens and temporarily suspended Gainsight applications from the AppExchange until the examination is completed.

Affected customers have been notified and are encouraged to contact the Salesforce support team for help.

While further specifics about these incidents remain undisclosed, they bear resemblance to the August 2025 breach involving Salesloft. In that situation, the extortion group "Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters" compromised sensitive data, such as passwords and access keys, from Salesforce environments using stolen OAuth tokens appointed to Salesloft's Drift AI chat integration.

The data leak from the Salesloft incident reportedly impacted around 760 organizations, leading to the theft of approximately 1.5 billion Salesforce records.

The breach was noted to have affected companies like Google, Cloudflare, Rubrik, Elastic, and more, among others.

Recently, the ShinyHunters group claimed they accessed an additional 285 Salesforce instances after breaching Gainsight, leveraging secrets stolen during the earlier Salesloft incident.

Gainsight has acknowledged that it was compromised via the theft of OAuth tokens connected to the Salesloft Drift integration, which provided attackers with access to business contact information, including names, emails, phone numbers, location details, licensing data, and support case records.

BleepingComputer attempted to contact Gainsight for clarification on the recent data theft linked to their applications but did not receive an immediate response.

In an update on November 21, Palo Alto Networks clarified it was not compromised by the Gainsight supply chain attack.

A spokesperson stated that on November 19, 2025, they discovered errors within their Gainsight integration and promptly disabled it.

They confirmed, based on their forensic analysis and Salesforce's assurances, that their specific instance remained secure and that none of their products or services were affected by this security breach.
