With the Vezina Trophy race seemingly already decided, the only real level of drama surrounding the award is who else would join , the presumed winner, as finalists. The answer: goaltender and netminder .The Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHLs top goaltender, is voted on by the NHLs general managers. Though all three players are deserving of the award, Price has been the favorite almost wire-to-wire this NHL season. The netminder is also favored to win the Hart Trophy as the league's Hassan Whiteside Jersey MVP.Though he has been a strong goaltender for much of his career, the 2014-15 season marked the year that Price staked his claim as one of the very best goaltenders in the league. Price led the NHL with a .933 save percentage and is the biggest reason the Montreal Canadiens finished the regular season as Atlantic Division champions. Price also went 44-16-6 in 66 starts, while posting a 1.96 goals-against average and nine shutouts. In addition to the top save percentage, Price also owned the most wins and best GAA. Pretty hard to argue against those numbers. Rinne was a key figure in the resurgent season Nashville enjoyed. He finished ninth in the NHL with a .923 save percentage, while logging 64 starts this season. He went 41-17-6 as he helped the Preds to second place in the tough Central Division. He also logged a 2.18 goals-against average and four shutouts. Though his first half was incredible, Rinne's numbers dipped down the stretch as he had to come back from an injury and the team in front of him struggled as well. That said, this season was a great return to form for the 32-year-old Finland native.Dubnyk became one of the great comeback stories in all of sports this year. After finishing last season as a pa sed-around AHLer, Dubnyk rediscovered his game in 2014-15. He started the year with the , where he backed up .In mid-January, he was traded to the Minnesota Wild for a third-round draft pick. From there, Dubnyk went on a ridiculous tear that included 38 consecutive starts (39 if you count his last appearance with Arizona) and helped bring the Wild back from the dead. He went 27-9-2 after joining Minnesota and posted a .936 save percentage. He also notched five shutouts and a 1.78 goals-against average. Combing the 19 appearances he made with the Coyotes, Dubnyk went 36-14-4, with a .929 save percentage and 2.07 goals-against average (both second in the league).All three were great stories this year, but Price had an incredible season from start to finish and his numbers don't lie.
